How To Uninstall vpx-tools On Debian 8

To uninstall vpx-tools just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just vpx-tools

VP8 and VP9 video codec encoding/decoding toolsDebian 8.0utils1.3.0-3
sudo apt-get remove vpx-tools

This will remove just the vpx-tools package itself.

Uninstall vpx-tools and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove vpx-tools

This will remove the vpx-tools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for vpx-tools then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge vpx-tools

Or similarly, like this vpx-tools

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove vpx-tools
