How To Uninstall ack-grep On Debian 9

To uninstall ack-grep just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ack-grep

linuxTransitional dummy package to pull in "ack"utils2.14-5
sudo apt-get remove ack-grep

This will remove just the ack-grep package itself.

Uninstall ack-grep and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ack-grep

This will remove the ack-grep package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ack-grep then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ack-grep

Or similarly, like this ack-grep

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ack-grep
