How To Uninstall aide On Debian 9

To uninstall aide just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just aide

Advanced Intrusion Detection Environment - static binaryDebian 9.0admin0.16-1+b3
sudo apt-get remove aide

This will remove just the aide package itself.

Uninstall aide and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove aide

This will remove the aide package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for aide then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge aide

Or similarly, like this aide

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove aide
