How To Uninstall apertium On Debian 9

To uninstall apertium just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just apertium

Shallow-transfer machine translation engineDebian 9.0misc3.4.0~r61013-5+b1
sudo apt-get remove apertium

This will remove just the apertium package itself.

Uninstall apertium and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove apertium

This will remove the apertium package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for apertium then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge apertium

Or similarly, like this apertium

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove apertium
