How To Uninstall appstream-util On Debian 9

To uninstall appstream-util just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just appstream-util

Utility to work with AppStream metadataDebian 9.0admin0.6.8-1
sudo apt-get remove appstream-util

This will remove just the appstream-util package itself.

Uninstall appstream-util and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove appstream-util

This will remove the appstream-util package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for appstream-util then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge appstream-util

Or similarly, like this appstream-util

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove appstream-util
