How To Uninstall aptitude On Debian 9

To uninstall aptitude just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just aptitude

linuxterminal-based package manageradmin0.8.7-1
sudo apt-get remove aptitude

This will remove just the aptitude package itself.

Uninstall aptitude and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove aptitude

This will remove the aptitude package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for aptitude then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge aptitude

Or similarly, like this aptitude

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove aptitude
