How To Uninstall ardour-altivec On Debian 9

To uninstall ardour-altivec just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ardour-altivec

transitional dummy package for (altivec-optimized) ardourDebian 9.0sound1:5.5.0~dfsg-1
sudo apt-get remove ardour-altivec

This will remove just the ardour-altivec package itself.

Uninstall ardour-altivec and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ardour-altivec

This will remove the ardour-altivec package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ardour-altivec then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ardour-altivec

Or similarly, like this ardour-altivec

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ardour-altivec
