How To Uninstall ardour3 On Debian 9

To uninstall ardour3 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ardour3

transitional dummy package for ardourDebian 9.0oldlibs1:5.5.0~dfsg-1
sudo apt-get remove ardour3

This will remove just the ardour3 package itself.

Uninstall ardour3 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ardour3

This will remove the ardour3 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ardour3 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ardour3

Or similarly, like this ardour3

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ardour3
