How To Uninstall ash On Debian 9

To uninstall ash just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ash

compatibility package for dashDebian 9.0shells0.5.8-2.4
sudo apt-get remove ash

This will remove just the ash package itself.

Uninstall ash and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ash

This will remove the ash package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ash then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ash

Or similarly, like this ash

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ash
