How To Uninstall astro-gdl On Debian 9

To uninstall astro-gdl just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just astro-gdl

IDL/GDL packages for astronomyDebian 9.0metapackages1.0
sudo apt-get remove astro-gdl

This will remove just the astro-gdl package itself.

Uninstall astro-gdl and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove astro-gdl

This will remove the astro-gdl package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for astro-gdl then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge astro-gdl

Or similarly, like this astro-gdl

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove astro-gdl
