How To Uninstall astro-virtual-observatory On Debian 9

sudo apt-get remove astro-virtual-observatory

This will remove just the astro-virtual-observatory package itself.

Uninstall astro-virtual-observatory and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove astro-virtual-observatory

This will remove the astro-virtual-observatory package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for astro-virtual-observatory then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge astro-virtual-observatory
