How To Uninstall aterm On Debian 9

To uninstall aterm just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just aterm

transitional dummy package for rxvt-unicode-256colorDebian 9.0x111.0.1dummy1
sudo apt-get remove aterm

This will remove just the aterm package itself.

Uninstall aterm and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove aterm

This will remove the aterm package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for aterm then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge aterm

Or similarly, like this aterm

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove aterm
