How To Uninstall auditd On Debian 9

To uninstall auditd just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just auditd

linuxUser space tools for security auditingadmin1:2.6.7-2
sudo apt-get remove auditd

This will remove just the auditd package itself.

Uninstall auditd and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove auditd

This will remove the auditd package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for auditd then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge auditd

Or similarly, like this auditd

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove auditd
