How To Uninstall autofs5-hesiod On Debian 9

To uninstall autofs5-hesiod just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just autofs5-hesiod

transitional dummy package for 'autofs-hesiod'Debian 9.0oldlibs5.1.2-1
sudo apt-get remove autofs5-hesiod

This will remove just the autofs5-hesiod package itself.

Uninstall autofs5-hesiod and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove autofs5-hesiod

This will remove the autofs5-hesiod package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for autofs5-hesiod then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge autofs5-hesiod

Or similarly, like this autofs5-hesiod

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove autofs5-hesiod
