How To Uninstall automake On Debian 9

To uninstall automake just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just automake

Tool for generating GNU Standards-compliant MakefilesDebian 9.0devel1:1.15-6
sudo apt-get remove automake

This will remove just the automake package itself.

Uninstall automake and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove automake

This will remove the automake package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for automake then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge automake

Or similarly, like this automake

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove automake
