How To Uninstall avarice On Debian 9

To uninstall avarice just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just avarice

use GDB with Atmel AVR debuggersDebian 9.0electronics2.13+svn347-4
sudo apt-get remove avarice

This will remove just the avarice package itself.

Uninstall avarice and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove avarice

This will remove the avarice package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for avarice then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge avarice

Or similarly, like this avarice

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove avarice
