How To Uninstall base-files On Debian 9

To uninstall base-files just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just base-files

linuxDebian base system miscellaneous filesadmin9.9
sudo apt-get remove base-files

This will remove just the base-files package itself.

Uninstall base-files and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove base-files

This will remove the base-files package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for base-files then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge base-files

Or similarly, like this base-files

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove base-files
