How To Uninstall base-passwd On Debian 9

To uninstall base-passwd just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just base-passwd

Debian base system master password and group filesDebian 9.0admin3.5.43
sudo apt-get remove base-passwd

This will remove just the base-passwd package itself.

Uninstall base-passwd and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove base-passwd

This will remove the base-passwd package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for base-passwd then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge base-passwd

Or similarly, like this base-passwd

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove base-passwd
