How To Uninstall basex On Debian 9

To uninstall basex just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just basex

XML database and XPath/XQuery processorDebian 9.0database8.5.1-1
sudo apt-get remove basex

This will remove just the basex package itself.

Uninstall basex and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove basex

This will remove the basex package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for basex then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge basex

Or similarly, like this basex

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove basex
