How To Uninstall bash On Debian 9

To uninstall bash just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just bash

linuxGNU Bourne Again SHellshells4.4-5
sudo apt-get remove bash

This will remove just the bash package itself.

Uninstall bash and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bash

This will remove the bash package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for bash then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge bash

Or similarly, like this bash

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bash
