How To Uninstall bcftools On Debian 9

To uninstall bcftools just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just bcftools

genomic variant calling and manipulation of VCF/BCF filesDebian 9.0science1.3.1-1+b1
sudo apt-get remove bcftools

This will remove just the bcftools package itself.

Uninstall bcftools and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bcftools

This will remove the bcftools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for bcftools then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge bcftools

Or similarly, like this bcftools

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bcftools
