How To Uninstall bear On Debian 9

To uninstall bear just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just bear

generate compilation database for Clang toolingDebian 9.0devel2.2.1-1
sudo apt-get remove bear

This will remove just the bear package itself.

Uninstall bear and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bear

This will remove the bear package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for bear then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge bear

Or similarly, like this bear

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bear
