How To Uninstall binfmt-support On Debian 9

To uninstall binfmt-support just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just binfmt-support

Support for extra binary formatsDebian 9.0admin2.1.6-2
sudo apt-get remove binfmt-support

This will remove just the binfmt-support package itself.

Uninstall binfmt-support and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove binfmt-support

This will remove the binfmt-support package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for binfmt-support then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge binfmt-support

Or similarly, like this binfmt-support

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove binfmt-support
