How To Uninstall bioperl On Debian 9

To uninstall bioperl just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just bioperl

Perl tools for computational molecular biologyDebian 9.0science1.7.1-2
sudo apt-get remove bioperl

This will remove just the bioperl package itself.

Uninstall bioperl and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bioperl

This will remove the bioperl package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for bioperl then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge bioperl

Or similarly, like this bioperl

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bioperl
