How To Uninstall birthday On Debian 9

To uninstall birthday just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just birthday

Display information about pending events on loginDebian 9.0misc1.6.2-4+b1
sudo apt-get remove birthday

This will remove just the birthday package itself.

Uninstall birthday and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove birthday

This will remove the birthday package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for birthday then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge birthday

Or similarly, like this birthday

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove birthday
