How To Uninstall bitlbee-libpurple On Debian 9

To uninstall bitlbee-libpurple just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just bitlbee-libpurple

IRC to other chat networks gateway (using libpurple)Debian 9.0net3.5.1-1
sudo apt-get remove bitlbee-libpurple

This will remove just the bitlbee-libpurple package itself.

Uninstall bitlbee-libpurple and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bitlbee-libpurple

This will remove the bitlbee-libpurple package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for bitlbee-libpurple then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge bitlbee-libpurple

Or similarly, like this bitlbee-libpurple

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bitlbee-libpurple
