How To Uninstall blast2 On Debian 9

To uninstall blast2 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just blast2

transitional dummy package to ncbi-blast+-legacyDebian 9.0science1:2.6.0-1
sudo apt-get remove blast2

This will remove just the blast2 package itself.

Uninstall blast2 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove blast2

This will remove the blast2 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for blast2 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge blast2

Or similarly, like this blast2

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove blast2
