How To Uninstall bomstrip On Debian 9

To uninstall bomstrip just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just bomstrip

tool to strip Byte-Order Marks from UTF-8 text filesDebian 9.0text9-10
sudo apt-get remove bomstrip

This will remove just the bomstrip package itself.

Uninstall bomstrip and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bomstrip

This will remove the bomstrip package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for bomstrip then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge bomstrip

Or similarly, like this bomstrip

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bomstrip
