How To Uninstall borgbackup On Debian 9

To uninstall borgbackup just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just borgbackup

deduplicating and compressing backup programDebian 9.0admin1.0.9-1
sudo apt-get remove borgbackup

This will remove just the borgbackup package itself.

Uninstall borgbackup and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove borgbackup

This will remove the borgbackup package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for borgbackup then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge borgbackup

Or similarly, like this borgbackup

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove borgbackup
