How To Uninstall boxes On Debian 9

To uninstall boxes just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just boxes

textmode box- and comment drawing filterDebian 9.0text1.1.2-5+b1
sudo apt-get remove boxes

This will remove just the boxes package itself.

Uninstall boxes and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove boxes

This will remove the boxes package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for boxes then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge boxes

Or similarly, like this boxes

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove boxes
