How To Uninstall bsd-mailx On Debian 9

To uninstall bsd-mailx just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just bsd-mailx

simple mail user agentDebian 9.0mail8.1.2-0.20160123cvs-4
sudo apt-get remove bsd-mailx

This will remove just the bsd-mailx package itself.

Uninstall bsd-mailx and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bsd-mailx

This will remove the bsd-mailx package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for bsd-mailx then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge bsd-mailx

Or similarly, like this bsd-mailx

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bsd-mailx
