How To Uninstall bsdcpio On Debian 9

To uninstall bsdcpio just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just bsdcpio

transitional dummy package for moving bsdcpio to libarchive-toolsDebian 9.0utils3.2.2-2
sudo apt-get remove bsdcpio

This will remove just the bsdcpio package itself.

Uninstall bsdcpio and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bsdcpio

This will remove the bsdcpio package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for bsdcpio then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge bsdcpio

Or similarly, like this bsdcpio

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bsdcpio
