How To Uninstall bsdtar On Debian 9

To uninstall bsdtar just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just bsdtar

transitional dummy package for moving bsdtar to libarchive-toolsDebian 9.0utils3.2.2-2
sudo apt-get remove bsdtar

This will remove just the bsdtar package itself.

Uninstall bsdtar and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bsdtar

This will remove the bsdtar package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for bsdtar then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge bsdtar

Or similarly, like this bsdtar

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bsdtar
