How To Uninstall can-utils On Debian 9

To uninstall can-utils just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just can-utils

SocketCAN userspace utilities and toolsDebian 9.0net0.0+git20161220-1
sudo apt-get remove can-utils

This will remove just the can-utils package itself.

Uninstall can-utils and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove can-utils

This will remove the can-utils package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for can-utils then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge can-utils

Or similarly, like this can-utils

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove can-utils
