How To Uninstall cgit On Debian 9

To uninstall cgit just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just cgit

hyperfast web frontend for git repositories written in CDebian 9.0net1.1+git2.10.2-3
sudo apt-get remove cgit

This will remove just the cgit package itself.

Uninstall cgit and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove cgit

This will remove the cgit package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for cgit then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge cgit

Or similarly, like this cgit

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove cgit
