How To Uninstall cpio On Debian 9

To uninstall cpio just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just cpio

GNU cpio -- a program to manage archives of filesDebian 9.0utils2.11+dfsg-6
sudo apt-get remove cpio

This will remove just the cpio package itself.

Uninstall cpio and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove cpio

This will remove the cpio package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for cpio then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge cpio

Or similarly, like this cpio

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove cpio
