How To Uninstall dash On Debian 9

To uninstall dash just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just dash

POSIX-compliant shellDebian 9.0shells0.5.8-2.4
sudo apt-get remove dash

This will remove just the dash package itself.

Uninstall dash and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove dash

This will remove the dash package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for dash then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge dash

Or similarly, like this dash

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove dash
