How To Uninstall db-util On Debian 9

To uninstall db-util just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just db-util

Berkeley Database UtilitiesDebian 9.0utils5.3.1
sudo apt-get remove db-util

This will remove just the db-util package itself.

Uninstall db-util and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove db-util

This will remove the db-util package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for db-util then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge db-util

Or similarly, like this db-util

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove db-util
