How To Uninstall debconf On Debian 9

To uninstall debconf just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just debconf

Debian configuration management systemDebian 9.0admin1.5.61
sudo apt-get remove debconf

This will remove just the debconf package itself.

Uninstall debconf and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove debconf

This will remove the debconf package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for debconf then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge debconf

Or similarly, like this debconf

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove debconf
