How To Uninstall debian-xcontrol On Debian 9

To uninstall debian-xcontrol just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just debian-xcontrol

Extended syntax for debian/control filesDebian 9.0devel0.0.4-1.1+b6
sudo apt-get remove debian-xcontrol

This will remove just the debian-xcontrol package itself.

Uninstall debian-xcontrol and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove debian-xcontrol

This will remove the debian-xcontrol package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for debian-xcontrol then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge debian-xcontrol

Or similarly, like this debian-xcontrol

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove debian-xcontrol
