How To Uninstall desktop-base On Debian 9

To uninstall desktop-base just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just desktop-base

common files for the Debian DesktopDebian 9.0x119.0.2
sudo apt-get remove desktop-base

This will remove just the desktop-base package itself.

Uninstall desktop-base and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove desktop-base

This will remove the desktop-base package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for desktop-base then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge desktop-base

Or similarly, like this desktop-base

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove desktop-base
