How To Uninstall desktop-file-utils On Debian 9

To uninstall desktop-file-utils just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just desktop-file-utils

Utilities for .desktop filesDebian 9.0devel0.23-1
sudo apt-get remove desktop-file-utils

This will remove just the desktop-file-utils package itself.

Uninstall desktop-file-utils and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove desktop-file-utils

This will remove the desktop-file-utils package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for desktop-file-utils then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge desktop-file-utils

Or similarly, like this desktop-file-utils

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove desktop-file-utils
