How To Uninstall dict On Debian 9

To uninstall dict just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just dict

dictionary clientDebian 9.0text1.12.1+dfsg-4
sudo apt-get remove dict

This will remove just the dict package itself.

Uninstall dict and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove dict

This will remove the dict package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for dict then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge dict

Or similarly, like this dict

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove dict
