How To Uninstall dictfmt On Debian 9

To uninstall dictfmt just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just dictfmt

utility to format a file for use by a dictd serverDebian 9.0utils1.12.1+dfsg-4
sudo apt-get remove dictfmt

This will remove just the dictfmt package itself.

Uninstall dictfmt and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove dictfmt

This will remove the dictfmt package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for dictfmt then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge dictfmt

Or similarly, like this dictfmt

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove dictfmt
