How To Uninstall dictionaries-common-dev On Debian 9

To uninstall dictionaries-common-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just dictionaries-common-dev

spelling dictionaries - developer filesDebian 9.0devel1.27.2
sudo apt-get remove dictionaries-common-dev

This will remove just the dictionaries-common-dev package itself.

Uninstall dictionaries-common-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove dictionaries-common-dev

This will remove the dictionaries-common-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for dictionaries-common-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge dictionaries-common-dev

Or similarly, like this dictionaries-common-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove dictionaries-common-dev
