How To Uninstall edict On Debian 9

To uninstall edict just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just edict

English / Japanese dictionaryDebian 9.0text2016.12.06-1
sudo apt-get remove edict

This will remove just the edict package itself.

Uninstall edict and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove edict

This will remove the edict package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for edict then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge edict

Or similarly, like this edict

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove edict
