How To Uninstall elpa-evil On Debian 9

To uninstall elpa-evil just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just elpa-evil

extensible vi layer for EmacsDebian 9.0lisp1.2.12-2
sudo apt-get remove elpa-evil

This will remove just the elpa-evil package itself.

Uninstall elpa-evil and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove elpa-evil

This will remove the elpa-evil package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for elpa-evil then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge elpa-evil

Or similarly, like this elpa-evil

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove elpa-evil
