How To Uninstall elpa-rainbow-mode On Debian 9

To uninstall elpa-rainbow-mode just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just elpa-rainbow-mode

colorize color names in buffersDebian 9.0lisp0.12-1
sudo apt-get remove elpa-rainbow-mode

This will remove just the elpa-rainbow-mode package itself.

Uninstall elpa-rainbow-mode and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove elpa-rainbow-mode

This will remove the elpa-rainbow-mode package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for elpa-rainbow-mode then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge elpa-rainbow-mode

Or similarly, like this elpa-rainbow-mode

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove elpa-rainbow-mode
