How To Uninstall emacs-jabber On Debian 9

To uninstall emacs-jabber just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just emacs-jabber

Transition package, emacs-jabber to elpa-jabberDebian 9.0net0.8.92+git98dc8e-2
sudo apt-get remove emacs-jabber

This will remove just the emacs-jabber package itself.

Uninstall emacs-jabber and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove emacs-jabber

This will remove the emacs-jabber package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for emacs-jabber then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge emacs-jabber

Or similarly, like this emacs-jabber

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove emacs-jabber
