How To Uninstall enigmail On Debian 9

To uninstall enigmail just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just enigmail

GPG support for Thunderbird and Debian IcedoveDebian 9.0mail2:1.9.7-2
sudo apt-get remove enigmail

This will remove just the enigmail package itself.

Uninstall enigmail and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove enigmail

This will remove the enigmail package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for enigmail then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge enigmail

Or similarly, like this enigmail

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove enigmail
